When Did The New KIA Logo Come Out

by Carmelo PickelApril 14, 2022

On January 6, 2021, KIA unveiled its new corporate logo and global brand slogan. The automaker's transformation and the new brand mission are symbolized by its logo. Kia is redesigning nearly all aspects of its business to establish a leadership position in the future mobility industry by introducing a new logo.

This new logo signifies KIA's new brand purpose and the products, services, and experiences it promises to deliver in the future. The new KIA logo is a handwritten signature, securing the brand's promise. Its unbroken rhythm conveys KIA's passion for creating moments of inspiration, while its symmetry conveys its confidence. KIA's logo depicts rising gestures to reflect its ambition for the company and its customers.

According to KIA's President and CEO, Ho Sung Song, the new logo symbolizes KIA's commitment to becoming an icon for change and innovation. KIA is proactively shaping and adapting to the changes in the automotive industry, which is going through a period of rapid transformation. As their customers' mobility needs evolve, the new logo expresses KIA’s desire to inspire our employees to meet the challenges they face in a fast-changing industry."

An impressive pyrotechnic display unveiled the new logo over Incheon, Korea. It was an event that featured 303 pyrodrones releasing hundreds of fireworks in a synchronized artistic display to ignite and celebrate KIA's new beginning. KIA now holds the Guinness World Record for simultaneously launching fireworks from the most UAVs.

KIA has unveiled a brand slogan for its global brand, 'Movement that inspires,' and its all-new logo. A digital 'New KIA Brand Showcase' event was held on January 15, 2021. It shared details regarding KIA's new brand strategy, including brand purpose and philosophy and its application to the company's future product line-up.

In 2020, KIA announced its long-term business strategy, Plan S. The new logo coincides with the announcement. One of KIA's goals under Plan S is to establish itself as a leader in the global automotive industry. In this program, electric vehicles will be popularized, and a wide range of mobility services will be launched, tailored to meet the needs and preferences of individuals and local markets.

On Jan. 15, KIA will reveal more about its "new brand purpose and strategy" and the new logo that it will affix to new vehicles. We believe this logo switch should have occurred with the introduction of the Stinger, but hey, better late than never.

Despite these efforts, KIA hasn't shed its reputation for making very cheap cars, and its current logo and branding are still associated with really cheap cars from decades ago. In today's market, it produces some great cars across its lineup, and it will now get the marketing and branding attention it deserves. In theory, that is just what the company hopes will happen. In place of a blocky font with an oval, a flowing script is now used to spell out the name "KIA in place of a blocky font with an oval.". This new logo is designed to represent "symmetry," "rhythm," and "rising.".
